NYC: Familiar Ground

Hi everyone! Please excuse me for the lack of updates. Since we've arrived in New York it's been crazy (busy) fun. We've seen so many amazing shows and I acquired so much inspiration. Can't wait to share more with you about that.

It feels so good to be back in New York guys! Like Amsterdam, this city keeps me on my toes and I’m constantly stimulated by all the possibilities. Bored is definitely not a word that exists in a New Yorkers vocabulary because there is always something going on, what more could you want? This has definitely been a fashion week for the books. It’s been fun going to shows, interacting with lots of familiar and new faces, and putting together some projects that I can reveal to you at a later date. I’m over the moon excited and can’t wait to show you guys A!

The first day we tried not to jam our schedule with too much activity since we were getting our heads around the time change and adapting to the climate (oh hi winter!), but those few pains were healed quickly with a kiss from the magnetic energy in the air. After we settled into our hotel room we got ready to go wander, and attend a few meetings of course (no rest for the fashionably wicked!). I was so happy to reconnect with the city, but also to sport my new weather appropriate threads. It never gets this cold back home so it’s always a fun test to see how I can dress for this weather without completely losing myself in the layers that I so badly want to hide in.

Obviously I didn’t want to be too foolish and freeze my buns off, so I had my thermal underwear (leggings and long sleeve shirt) on underneath my jacket and pants. Stylish, right? What’s actually really great about this weather is that you have so many options for layering. Really, anything goes! But the tricky part is still maintaining your identity among all the fabric. I opted to wear this great tribal printed poncho on-top of a leather jacket along with my favorite black leather pants and rich burgundy heels. How cozy is this poncho? I like how the fabric isn’t too heavy and keeps me warm without restricting my arm movement. It’s perfect for any day spent outdoors. Young, cold and free in NYC! Now off to work!

I was wearing
Isabel Marant Texas Knitted Poncho
Leather Biker Jacket
Leather Look Trousers
Prada Ankle Boots - similar
Maria Lamanna Cosi Handbag - In Black
