We all tend to dream of what our lives could be like if we got everything we wished for. Whether it’s big or small, wishes are not usually easy to attain, but none the less we still hope for everything to work out. Before reaching this point in my career, fear and anxiety were both factors in my life. I was more averse to taking risks when I was younger than I am now because I’d always think about the 'what if'. What if I failed? What if my goals didn’t play out the way I’d hoped? While in school I realized I wanted to do something more creative with my life and being aware that this wasn’t something I was exactly learning during my studies, I had to push my worries aside and take more daring steps in the direction I wanted to reach my goals.
I came to the conclusion that if I don’t take a few risks then I’ll never cross that bridge, the one with my wish patiently sitting on the other side waiting for me to be brave enough to cross. Without taking chances, it becomes even more difficult to make your dreams a reality. Eventually, I calculated my risks and found the strength to overcome these anxieties. Though it took a while, I’m now more comfortable taking a few chances and I have learned to accept that not everything will turn out the way I want it to. Control is sometimes out of our hands and acknowledging that was a big step for me.
With that, my dream is to help build a bridge for you guys as well, to help you see obstacles in a different light and help you realize that yes, you too can get to the other side and have your wish come true. I dream about translating fears and anxieties into beautiful realities for all of you, where a few calculated risks can guide you to the place you’ve always wanted to be. My wish is for everyone to find the courage to realize their ambitions, to do what makes you happy and live the life you have dreamed about.
I love it when a piece of jewelry can carry a deep emotional meaning and when it reminds you of a certain moment in your life. Locking up my memories in a special pendant is the perfect way to remind me of what I've accomplished and what I want to do next—this is exactly what the Amulette de Cartier represents. My wish is very clear to me when I put on my Amulette and it is something that I see coming true, but not without a little focus and effort. I feel like luck is in my corner when I wear this necklace, encouraging me to keep pushing to overcome my fears and anxieties and to truly believe that my new dreams are not too out of reach. It kind of helps me find strength when I need it the most.
In Sevilla I found a place that truly embodies the vitality of this specific Amulette. I found the water to be a reflection of this Cartier stone, not just in color but the energizing power within it. I felt like the red river was carrying away my anxieties and giving me more confidence to keep pursuing my dreams.
With that I feel incredibly honored to be collaborating with Cartier on the Amulette that rapidly became something I treasure a lot because of the message it stands for. There are five different stones —Opal, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Chrysoprase and Carnelian— and what I love about them is that each one can be adapted to you as an individual. The moment I saw the Carnelian stone, I felt a connection to it and what it stood for—it was a very empowering moment. Now each time I put on this necklace I feel a bit more confident approaching the future and new challenges, knowing that even though some things are out of my control, wishes can come true.
